at the University of Missouri in the U.S. has developed a battery about the size of a Euro coin that
can be powered by energy generated by the decaying process of radioisotopes.
Unquestionably, this technology could prove invaluable for use with future nanoscale- and
MEMS-related technology, provided these batteries could be dramatically scaled down in size.

中国核电池研究的命运曲折阿,最近又开始复活了.
其实以前中国核电池的水平很高的,但是因为种种原因,经过岁月蹉跎,很多牛b技术都在保险柜里虚度时光,甚至当人家找来的时候,单位领导都不知道自己单位的档案库里还有这些东西,因为他的保密级别不够,没权利知道.....甚至单位的上级,上级的上级,顶到头都没那个级别.....

核电池是几十年前的老技术了
不是靠裂变也不是靠聚变，而是靠放射性
有放射电离电池，核温差电池等数十种
其中有些可以连续供电数百年，且免维护

没有民用，只是为了防止放射性物质扩散
核电池广泛应用于航空，航天及军事领域

无机酸说的对，是靠放射性实现的。好像是用半导体完成的，文章里提到了增大。。。受照射面积。。。

文章是前年的，里面提到了真正民用还有些问题需要处理。

无机酸咋不按爪印了呢？嘿嘿～

研究核燃料电池确实是个有前途的方向，如果有一天咱们的手机用核燃料的电池驱动---就不用充电器了

半导体式已经有了，原理和光电池差不多。估计寿命上百年。

个人认为这个用来回收利用有放射性的核废料不错。

旅行者1号不是用的核电池？只不过是温差式的，用了70多年了。

正解。旅行者一号就是用这种电池供电，用温差驱动热电偶堆。

主要是控制这个核材料分散到民间，搞不好哪天XX做了一个原子弹，搞毛了，谁也不想那样啊，呵呵。

this topic is actually incredibly timely.

35 years ago today, Voyager 1 was launched. So far, it has traveled 11 billion miles -> 20 billion km and reached the outer boundaries of our solar system. signal coming from Voyager 1 takes 16 hours to reach us.

it is powered by, you guessed it, a plutonium fuel cell. and that battery is good for another 10+ years.

Voyager 1 is the first space probe launched by humans and is the furthest that any man-made project has gone.

It took a picture of the earth (google "pale blue dot") from billions of miles away, to give you some perspective as to what the earth might have looked to an approaching alien.

here is the picture and see if you can spot earth.

those probes are actually quite profound. they are the only evidence of a civilization on earth.

in a few billion years, the sun will blow up and any life on earth will be evaporated. At that point, the voyager probes are the only proof that something intelligent once lived on this planet.

if the probes survive that long.
