5--- After replaced the Windows XP by Windows Seven , the grub2 has been destroyed , the following tips would be useful:

   (1)  use the fdisk -l command to get the information of Partition ,  find out the Deviece whose ID is 83,here
         we assure it is sda8

   (2)  Enter "sudo -i"  to get the root's priority

   (3)  Input" mkdir /media/tempdir " to creat a directory for mount the sda8, this prepare for the following step

   (4)  To mount the sda8 , we can simply input " mount /dev/sda8 /media/tempdir " .

   (5)  Input the following command "grub-install --root-directory=/media/tempdir /dev/sda " to install the grub2
         to the MBR  ,After hit the ENTER key , we will see it display "Installation finished.No Error Reported."

   (6)  The last step is to restart your computer and run the command "sudo update-grub2" in the terminate.

6-- 简单三步，用Ubuntu找回Windows的密码(转）

遗失东西是人类普遍的问题。如果你忘记了你的Windows登录密码，你可以通过Ubuntu操作系统找回来。

你首先要做的事是创建一个装有Ubuntu Linux的Live CD或者U盘。Ubuntu Live可以用来启动系统并且废除早前设置的Windows密码。

最容易的方式是下载运行UNetbootin。这个简单的程序会下载选中的Ubuntu并且安装在你的U盘里。

第二步是安装开源工具chntpw。你可以在Ubuntu里运新立得（Synaptic Package Manager）来

安装它。

要下载chntpw，新立得的源必须设置为Universe软件仓库。可以通过以下步骤完成：在新立得窗口点击Settings menu> Repositories。然后，勾选“Community-maintained Open Source software (universe)”然后点击“Close”。

之后，点击Reload按钮，新立得会自动下载Universe仓库里最新版本的软件包信息。完成后，在快速搜索栏键入chntpw。

如果搜索出现chnptw，选择“Mark for Installation”然后点击“Apply”安装它。

第三步是用chntpw修改Windows的密码。

挂载安装Windows的硬盘/分区
打开硬盘，记录下出现的卷标
打开命令行窗口（Applications> Accessories> Terminal）
键入以下命令行：
cd / media
ls
键入：cd [你之前记下的硬盘卷标]
键入：cd WINDOWS/system32/config
要修改管理员密码，键入命令：sudo chntpw SAM
你会看到几行可选择的命令行，最安全的方法是选择1并按下y会创建空白的密码。
选择2可以自行修改密码，但是有机会出错
要修改非管理员密码，在命令行模式键入以下命令：sudo chntpw-u [用户名] SAM

Ubuntu W: GPG签名验证错误三种解决方案

最近慢慢迁移到Ubuntu环境，被Windows腐蚀了太久，慢慢习惯吧。这几天遇到“Ubuntu W: GPG签名验证错误” 的问题。开始没有仔细看，需要在终端来运行一段含有提示码的后八位的命令。也找寻了其他方法都没有奏效，最终回过头了，一句句的看了下前人的方法确实可行。把看到的问题解决的方法整理如下，主要有三种方案，如下。

----------------方案一-----------------（本人操作可行）
W: GPG签名验证错误： http://ppa.launchpad.net intrepid Release: 由于没有公钥，下列签名无法进行验证： NO_PUBKEY 5A9BF3BB9D1A0061
出现以上错误提示时，只要把后八位拷贝一下来，并在[终端]里输入以下命令并加上这八位数字回车即可！
sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.Ubuntu.com 9D1A0061

----------------方案二-----------------
W: GPG签名验证错误： http://deb.opera.com unstable Release: 由于没有公钥，下列签名无法进行验证： NO_PUBKEY 033431536A423791

W: 您可能需要运行 apt-get update 来解决这些问题

需要把上面两行命令中的“4F6C1E86”替换成“NO_PUBKEY”后面的字串的最后8位，也即：

$ gpg --keyserver subkeys.pgp.net --recv 6A423791

$ gpg --export --armor 6A423791 | sudo apt-key add - （最后有一个小横扛不要忘记了）

----------------方案三-----------------

/etc/apt/sources.list.d/下有没有文件类似 *.list这样的，改成不以 .list结尾。

8-- windows 7 X64 X86 XP  + Fedora 15 + Ubuntu 11.04

解决安装Fedora15后，Grub中丢失Ubuntu启动项问题：

1--  启动进入Fedora15，然后挂载Ubuntu分区，可以点击每个盘符完成，然后进入Ubuntu的/boot/grub，找到里面的 grub.cfg,打开，备用。

2-- 打开终端，然后 sudo gedit  /boot/grub/menu.lst 然后在最后添加内容：

      title Ubuntu 11.04 x64
      root (hd0,0)
      kernel  /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.38-8-generic root=UUID=5e1708fa-915f-4b3d-9fa6-1aef9bb71b2e ro quiet splash    vt.handoff=7
      initrd  /boot/initrd.img-2.6.38-8-generic

3-- 修改UUID值和第二行的root（hd0，0）：
   在第一步中找到UUID的值，将第二步中的UUID替代。
   修改root中的值，看本帖的5楼，用fdisk -l 得到设备ID和索引序列号（sdaX，其中X是我们需要的），将得到的X减去1后的值，如X=11，那么修改为root(hd0,10).
   保存，重启完成。

9 -- If use the USB Creator or Usb installer cannot install the Ubuntu, U can use the Fedora LiveUSB Creator can solve the problem. Besides,LinuxLive USB Creator can make it too.
