请教Gate和Gated off 分别是什么意思?

请教使用FPGA的朋友，对一个clock信号来说，Gate和Gate off 是什么意思?怎么看着有点矛盾呀。
当前的理解为Gate=turnoff, 即关上不用的意思
gate off为不用gate，打开的意思

是这样理解吗?

Gate是组合逻辑门电路的意思,Gate on就是通过组合逻辑Gate选通Clock, off则相反. Not gate相当于Clock直接连过去。
这种Gated clock的方式在fpga里面是不推荐的做法,会使时钟产生毛刺。
